Jeda Compounding & Distribution Services Inc. plans to open a new compounding plant in Dyersville, Iowa.

Romeoville, Ill.-based Jeda — a compounder and distributor of engineering resins — has outgrown its plant in Decatur, Ill., co-owner and general manager Jeff Goodwin said in a recent article on the web site of TH Media in Dubuque, Iowa.

Goodwin added in the article that the Dyersville location would put Jeda closer to major customers such as John Deere and Sears Seating.

On May 19, Dyersville City Council approved a $545,000, 10-year tax credit package for the new Jeda plant, according to another TH media article. An additional article said that the firm will invest $3.2 million in the new plant – which will create 25 jobs over three years – and that Jeda also has received $120,000 in financial assistance from the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board.

Company officials could not be reached for comment. According to Jeda’s web site, the firm specializes in nylon resins — including 6, 6/6, 6/6/6 and 12 grades — as well as PBT and acetal. Other engineering resins handled by Jeda include ABS, polycarbonate and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS).
