IBM Scan Codes

Keyboard Scan Codes

When we give the input to the keyboard then the data comes in the form of scan codes that are generated by pressing a key. Each key pressed by us or key release by us produces 0 and 6 scan codes.

IBM Scan Codes

You can see the table below is nothing to do with ASCII, but it will request a number of you out there. When a key on your keyboard is pressed, a code is sent which can be pointed by the software. Programmers will find the use of this table of map keys that perform the actions for the function keys etc.

EBCDIC

What does Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code mean?

EBCDIC is an 8-bit binary code for all the numeric and alphanumeric characters. It was developed by IBM. It is a coding parts that representing where symbols, letter, and numbers are represented in a binary language.

EBCDIC Character set

EBCDIC is an 8-bit character that takes up eight bits and divides into two pieces. The first four bits are called the zone and represent the category of the character, whereas, the last four bits are called the digit and identify the specific character.
